Sammy sat alone in the extra cafe. His fork was suspended in midair and the food on it forgotten. Tai-San's scream rattled him from his thoughts and inadvertantly tossed him back into The Game. The sound rolled around in his thoughts and Sammy couldn't even begin to wonder at why a scream would bring The Game rushing back. Shaking his head, he noticed that Kerry had gotten up and left. How long had he been sitting her by himself? Sammy's shaking hand set the food laden fork back onto his plate. He was feeling sick and tired. There was still a little food left on his plate, but he couldn't stomach it. Standing up, he walked in to see Patsy, Kerry, Trudy and Dee working around to get things straightened. Leaving his plate, he nodded a hello and kept his head hung down.
Without seeing anything, Sammy walked down the stairs and towards his room. His head felt stuffy and heavy. Shaking his head, he wandered into his room. It was nice and dark. Sammy just wanted to sleep and forget the day. It'd been far to active for his liking. He began to tug off his wedding clothes. The belt got stuck and Sammy had to tug at it. The clasp finally opened and he flung it, with the rest of the clothes, onto the floor in a pile. The poliet thing would be to pick them up, hang them up. But Sammy was tired and he could feel a headache coming on.
He dragged his hands through his hair and sighed. The comic book still lying on his bed was tossed carelessly aside. The Game was back in his thoughts and he knew it was dangerous to think about. It wasn't an option anymore, and he just had to work through that. Throwing himself onto his bed, he pulled up his covers and lay there, staring blankly at the ceiling. After tossing and turning for a long time, Sammy finally fell into a light sleep.

Sammy left Anna and Tatty's room and headed back towards his own. He glanced down the hall where Ebony had been screaming at Jack earlier. However, since they'd left the music room earlier, two others had joined. Sammy knew them both to Ryan's kids, but only remembered that one was named Kerry. Who was the other? It started with an M... Mark? No. Sammy shrugged his shoulders to himself and secretly wished Jack the best against all three of them. The odds were rather against him. At least Jack was lucky that Ryan hadn't shown up.
Finding his room, he entered and looked around. He didn't want to stray far because the wedding was coming up, but what could he do to pass the time. Spotting an old comic book lying next to his bed, Sammy picked it up. He'd read this particular issue at least six times, but it was one of the only ones he had. If the virus had never happened, he could've gone to the store and bought one. If the virus hadn't happened, you wouldn't be living in a mall or attending Amber's wedding... Making himself comfortable on the bed, he opened to the first page and began to read again. At least the pictures were still really cool to look at.

Sammy looked over at Kerry as he pulled out a shirt and shook his head. It was about the ugliest thing he'd ever seen. This wasn't very much fun, Sammy didn't understand how girls could spend hours just looking at clothes. For a second Sammy couldn't remember why he was looking for clothes. It was so that he could look nice for the wedding, secretly though, he admitted he wanted to look nice for Willow, even if she did like books. Besides, maybe after the wedding he could see if she wanted to watch that zombie movie. Kerry was her brother, or thats what they were saying. Sammy didn't think they looked very much alike. Or maybe they were more of siblings you chose. Like Mouse was like a little sister to him, but she wasn't related. They'd just sort of found each other. Maybe Kerry and the rest just sort of found each other too. He was curious now. "So, are you and Willow...I mean the others, real siblings then? Like, are you all related to each other?" Mentally, Sammy kicked himself. He hadn't meant to bring Willow into that. Where had her name come from. He turned back to looking at shirts.

Sammy woke up stretched sideways across his bed. He wasn’t sure what woke him, until he heard it again. Someone in the mall was screaming. Standing up groggily, he stumbled towards the door and peered out. It was utter chaos. There was a boy lying on the floor, screaming and the militia standing around trying to contain him. As he watched, a girl flew across the room talking to the boy on the floor. Willow appeared next and Sammy watched her sit behind the other girl, who he assumed was one of her siblings…was her name Anna? He stared at her until Ryan appeared, grabbing the militia. Soon Salene was there, pleading with him. Sammy shook his head in confusion. There was just too much going on for him to stand, and he had just woken up too. After a few tense minutes, he realized that things had calmed down and that everyone was filing up the stairs for a meeting.
Glancing down at himself, Sammy realized that he was already dressed. “ugh…” He muttered. Sammy hadn’t drunk at the party, and yet he didn’t remember the events after the party ended. Had he just come downstairs and flopped onto his bed? Had he really been that tired? Shaking his head, he pushed his fingers back through his hair and followed the group up the stairs. After the meeting he’d maybe take a shower and find some clean clothes, but for now, he had to get upstairs. It took a few minutes until everything got settled. He slipped in at the back, and leaned against a wall, watching as people filed in around him. At least he wasn’t the latest. Rubbing groggily at his eyes, he stifled a yawn behind his hand and heard his stomach growl in protest. From the looks of things, he missed breakfast for the most part. “Well isn’t that just my luck, I slept through breakfast.” The meeting got started, finally.
He listened as they discussed the prisoner and his escape, as well as the circumstances surrounding his coming into the mall. They were talking about the color wars. Sammy frowned as he thought about The Game and from there his thoughts traveled to Paradise. He shook his head firmly. It would do no good dreaming about something that he couldn’t get his hands on. Trying to push the thoughts back away, he listened to the rest of the meeting. They were having a vote for both Moon and Dax. Sticking his hand into the air for both, he hoped the meeting would hurry and end. Sammy was so caught up in thinking about food, that he only heard the tail end of the comment Salene made about someone named Zandra. He looked over at the pink and blue-haired girl.
When he didn’t think he could stand it any longer, the meeting finally came to a close. As soon as he was able, Sammy ducked out of the café and headed back towards his room. He noticed a few other people around him leaving as well. With a smirk, he headed back into his room, then sat down on his un-made and disheveled bed. “Now what?” He needed to shower, and change clothes. He realized with a snort of annoyance that he still had to take care of the trash. Maybe I should do that before I shower… Getting up off the bed, he headed out of his room and gathered up the trash and then left it with Dax. Now he could go shower and change. He wondered briefly if Willow was going to the wedding too. Sammy hoped so.

"Dishes shouldn't take that long." Sammy promised Mouse as he gathered up his own empty dishes and headed inside the kitchen to start washing the ones already in the sink. Part of the Tribe had already finished eating, and it looked like everyone else was almost finished.
Filling up the sink he sighed as he began. Thanks to the original meal ending up on the floor, he'd ended up with even more dishes since people took more than one of what had been heated up. "Boring..."

| Back In the Mall/Sammy's Room |

Sammy reentered the Mall, glancing around. Nobody was downstairs, though he saw Gel and Ellie heading up to the cafe. He slipped into his room, glancing around before pulling the bottom drawer out of the dresser and hiding the map and TGun in the space below. He slid the drawer back into place, glancing over his shoulder again, as if worried someone had entered. Satisfied that they were safely hidden away, he changed into his new clothes - tossing his old ones away. He now wore a block shirt, newsprint pants, and tan golf shoes. He hung his patchwork coat back in the closet, and pulled out his red bandana. After a long minute he went back to the dresser and hid it with the map and TGun. He couldn't go out again today without anyone getting suspiscious, so he'd have to wait until tomorrow. He was a little disappointed, but if anyone found out they'd probably not want him to go. And he was determined to play the new "live" game.

Sammy had finally fallen into a real sleep late in the night. He wasn't sure why he was having so much trouble sleeping lately, but he wasn't sure why he had been so cranky either. Or why he hadn't felt like eating when he knew he should be hungry. He wanted to sleep late, but much too soon for his liking he was awakened by Mouse's scream.
"TECHNO!"
Technos? What about them? Jay and Ved were in the Mall, and she knew that. His mind wasn't functioning fully, but he dragged himself out of bed anyway, throwing on his usual outfit. It was getting too small for him, he'd have to get some new clothes soon. Maybe he'd ask Mouse where she'd found hers. It was in the Mall somewhere. Then he remembered that Mouse probably wasn't too happy with him because he'd refused to play with her yesterday. Maybe he'd just go look for something in the market. He exited his room, yawning, and decided to see what all the noise was about.

Sammy had made his way back to his room not long after dinner. He didn't really feel like talking to anyone. He seemed to be getting into that mood alot since he'd returned. He wasn't really sure why. He wondered if he should talk to anyone about it, but couldn't figure out who. Giving up, he flopped back on the bed. The days since he'd gotten back had been full of the strangest events, maybe he should just chalk it up to that and not worry about it. Or maybe he was just bored because he had nothing to do. He thought about Paradise again, and the fight with Mouse that morning. Even if it was the Mallrat's fault, the fact was the game was gone, and he couldn't change that. With a frown he got back up to go over to his desk, pulling out the rest of his paradise disks from an empty space underneath the bottom drawer. He hesitated, then broke the disks one by one before throwing them into the trash and heading back to bed. He lied down again, not really feeling any better. Sleep didn't come right away, though, and he lie awake staring unhappily at the wall.

Sammy entered his room feeling frustrated and upset. He didn't know what to do. He didn't know where Mouse was anyway, and there was just nothing to do at the Mall. He'd heard the shouting downstairs when he put the broom away, but that wasn't exactly unusual so he chose to ignore it. Glancing at the computer, he sat down, picking up one of the paradise disks and popping it in. He couldn't play it, but he could watch it on the screen. At first that was kind-of fun, but after awhile it got frustrating, because he wanted to change things in it. He wanted to PLAY Paradise, not watch it. Shutting it down, he took the disk out, breaking it and tossing it into the garbage, he flopped onto his bed. Maybe he could out to Market...

Sammy got the broom and headed downstairs, starting with the main room downstairs. He glanced around at the other rooms, wondering what ones he should do and what ones he could safely skip...He took it noone would notice or mind if he skipped their bedrooms, but he guessed he'd have to sweep the hospital. He glanced back at the cage room. Did he have to sweep there too? Maybe if he just glanced inside, and the guard told him to stay out...

[OOC:Continued From Downstairs]
Sammy entered his room, sitting on the bed. He wasn't really sure what he was upset about more. Getting Salene so angry, or getting into an arguement with Mouse over Paradise. He hadn't meant to bring it up - it had just slipped out. Salene wanted them to play quietly, and Paradise would have been quiet...He really couldn't seem to get it out of his head. Knowing it was gone for good just didn't help. He leaned back against the headboard, curling his legs up.

Sammy didn't stop running until he reached his room, and was curled up in his bed. He couldn't believe Pride had left them. He'd wanted to talk to him about Paradise. Who else would understand? Patch would listen to him, but he hadn't played the games. Pride had.
He shouldn't have yelled at Amber, or called her a liar. He didn't know her very well, but he she didn't seem like the type to lie. But, why had Pride's leaving been told like that? It was terrible news, and it had been told during what was supposed to be a kind of party for the Mallrats. Why hadn't Salene told him? Or Patch? Someone who knew how much it would hurt. News like that should be told to the people it would matter to most first, shouldn't it?
He felt like crying, and that made him worry. His emotions had been so out of control lately. One moment he was happy, the next minute he was angrier than he'd ever felt before. He wondered if something was wrong with him...should he talk to someone about it? He didn't know who...and he didn't think he wanted to go back downstairs right now anyway. That was alright, because he wasn't hungry anymore. He fell into a troubled sleep.

Sammy had been debating what to do when the sound of arguements came from upstairs. Then Salene showed up to yell at...Jack, she called him - who was staring at the Phoenix Statue for some reason. Feeling alot confused and a little forgotten he slipped upstairs. At this point Ved was the only one in the cafe so he could get by it unnoticed. His room was near Salene's and he noticed Siva talking to one of the guys he didn't know.
Going around the other way he made it to his room unnoticed, curling up in the bed. He hadn't gotten any lunch, but he didn't feel hungry now anyway. Things at the Mall were hectic and confusing. There were tons of people he didn't know and alot who he did know were missing. It felt like he'd come home to a different place than he'd left, and he wasn't sure what to think about it all. He tried to go to sleep but found that he couldn't so he lay awake on the bed.

Sammy woke up slowly, all too aware of how stiff his back was from sleeping on the floor even though he'd been sleeping on floors for days. He glanced around the VR Center he'd slept in. Like all the others, it was completely trashed and unusable. There wasn't one working anywhere in the city he'd searched. He glanced down at the Paradise helmet he'd fallen asleep holding as he stood, and very slowly let it fall to the ground. It was useless now anyway. With one last look around he left the building and headed toward the Mall, growing unhappier with each step. There was no more Paradise now - and it was all the other Mallrats fault!
